The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it will release all withheld results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on February 28.
This decision comes in response to concerns and agitation following WAEC’s decision to withhold the results of over 1,000 candidates from the recently concluded examination.
Speaking at a press briefing, the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, assured the public that the Council is committed to ensuring a swift resolution of the matter.
He further disclosed that a stay of execution regarding a court case on the issue is scheduled for hearing on February 20.
“We wish to bring to the notice of parents, guardians and indeed all stakeholders that the council works within a body of rules. The council does not make decisions arbitrarily. There are relevant committees that look into the merits of the matters raised and advise accordingly.
“The council wishes to assure its stakeholders that all the cases of malpractices being investigated will be finalised and all results released by 28th February 2025,” he stated.
