Former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker, has expressed optimism that President John Dramani Mahama will demonstrate the resilience needed to reset the nation.

In an interview with Channel One TV during Mahama’s presidential inauguration, Coker highlighted the high expectations Ghanaians have of the NDC administration, which was reflected in their overwhelming majority in parliament.

He urged the President and the NDC caucus in the 9th Parliament to prioritize the will and welfare of the people above all else.

“The country needs to be reset and that is why the NDC got an overwhelming majority of seats in parliament. Over the past eight years, we have all seen the deterioration of the country and so the expectations are very high. It behoves us to ensure that the mandate that the people of Ghana gave to us is well executed.

“I believe and hope that President Mahama starting from today will exhibit the resilience needed to reset the country. He has been there before so I am sure that he has learnt from his mistakes in the past,” he stated.
