Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully retained his parliamentary seat for Techiman South following a re-collation exercise at the Electoral Commission’s regional head office in Accra.

The re-collation was prompted by disputes over the initial results of the Techiman South constituency, which had attracted attention from both political parties and the public. After a thorough review of the election results, the Electoral Commission confirmed that Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah emerged victorious with a significant margin.

Korsah secured a total of 46, 663 votes, while his closest rival, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, polled 43, 429 votes.

The re-collation process, which was conducted under heightened security, was observed by representatives from both parties to ensure transparency and fairness.

In his victory speech, Korsah expressed gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support, pledging to remain committed to the development of Techiman South.

The re-collation exercise was part of a broader effort to resolve disputes in constituencies where election results were contested. The outcome in Techiman South solidified Korsah’s position as the legitimate winner of the parliamentary seat.

The Electoral Commission’s announcement marks the end of the dispute in Techiman South, with the NPP retaining the seat. Korsah’s victory adds to the NPP’s growing list of successes in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
