Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has expressed his deep gratitude and sense of responsibility after being appointed Chairman of the newly formed anti-corruption unit, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), by President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
In a post on his Facebook page, Ablakwa stated: “I humbly accept to chair this ORAL Team with a profound sense of duty, integrity and patriotism. We are grateful to President-elect H.E. John Mahama for the confidence reposed in us. For God and Country. Ghana First 🇬🇭 🙏🏾.”
The ORAL Team plays a crucial role in President-elect Mahama’s strategy to tackle corruption, ensure accountability, and recover misused state resources. This initiative is part of Mahama’s campaign promises to address corruption and rebuild public trust in government.
The announcement of the ORAL Team was made through a statement by Mahama’s Transition Team. The team’s main task will be to collect information from the public and other sources on suspected corruption cases.
Ablakwa will lead a team composed of respected professionals with expertise in law, auditing, law enforcement, and investigative journalism:
- Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa: Chairman, MP for North Tongu
- Daniel Domelevo: Former Auditor-General
- COP (Rtd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye: Retired Police Commissioner
- Martin Kpebu: Private Legal Practitioner
- Raymond Archer: Investigative Journalist
