President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that his decisive victory in the 2024 general elections is a clear indication that Ghanaians have little tolerance for bad governance.

Mahama secured a massive victory in the presidential and parliamentary election held on Saturday, December 9, marking a significant comeback to the presidency.

Mahama secured a significant victory with 6,328,397 votes representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, defeating his primary rival, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes representing 41.61%

Addressing supporters and the nation, Mahama emphasised that the election results reflect the people’s desire for accountable and transparent leadership.

He highlighted the challenges faced by the country under the NPP administration and pledged to work tirelessly to address these issues.

Mahama’s campaign focused on themes of economic recovery, job creation, and social justice, resonating with voters across the nation.

The President-elect’s message underscores the importance of good governance and the need for leaders to be responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people. Mahama has also called for unity and collective effort to build a better Ghana.

The transition of power is set to take place on January 7, 2025, when Mahama will be officially sworn in as President of Ghana.
