Channel One TV is celebrating a major milestone—seven years of impactful storytelling, credible journalism, and a steadfast commitment to informing, educating, and entertaining the Ghanaian public.

What began in 2018 as Citi TV, broadcasting from Adabraka in Accra, has since evolved into one of Ghana’s most dynamic and fastest-growing television stations. Now known as Channel One TV, the station commemorates its seventh anniversary with a renewed dedication to truth, credibility, and accuracy.

The station, which rebranded from Citi TV to Channel One TV on June 4, 2024, took the bold step to better reflect its expanded vision and distinctive identity in a rapidly evolving media landscape. Operations have since shifted to Tesano, as part of efforts to expand reach and capacity.

Managing Director of Channel One TV and Citi FM, Samuel Atta Mensah, applauded the dedication, resilience, and creativity of the Channel One team that has fueled the station’s growth and success.

“As we thank God, we, as management, will take this opportunity to thank you for making this happen. Without you, there won’t be stories to tell, so we thank you. We really, really thank you. To those of you who started with us, we say a big congratulations. Those of you who joined along the way, a big congratulations,” he said

Over the years, Channel One TV has become a household name, earning trust for its consistent delivery of high-quality news, business analysis, and educational content.

Reflecting on the journey, Bernard Avle, General Manager of Channel One TV and Citi FM, said, “The Ghanaian society has accepted us. Some of us have been in radio for two decades, and some of the stuff we do on TV, people say; Look, we know you guys, you’ve been credible, you are consistent, you love the country. So for me, it is a day of joy.”

The rebranding, according to Head of Programmes Apiorkor Seyiram Ashong-Abbey, was both a bold and necessary move.

“Last year, we took a bold step and we rebranded from Citi TV to Channel One TV because we felt that the Channel One TV brand had grown beyond bounds, beyond our imaginations and hopes,” she said.

As the station marks its seventh anniversary, it stands as a testament to the power of vision, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to excellence in broadcasting, echoing a signal that has grown into a national voice shaping minds and connecting hearts across Ghana.
