Dr. Delese Mimi Darko, the Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), has been appointed as the first Director-General of the African Medicines Agency (AMA).

Her appointment marks a major milestone in Africa’s quest to strengthen the regulation of medical products across the continent.

With a distinguished track record in regulatory excellence, Dr. Darko brings decades of experience to the newly established continental body.
