Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s Campaign Manager for the 2024 elections, Frederick Opare Ansah, has defended the flagbearer’s “Thank You” tour speeches, describing them as a reaffirmation of the party’s commitment to becoming a listening government once they return to power.

This comes amid widespread commentary suggesting that Dr. Bawumia’s speeches during his ‘Thank You’ tour have been an indirect indictment of Former President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In an interview on Citi Prime News on Monday, April 28, Opare Ansah emphasised that Bawumia has never distanced himself from the government’s actions.

He pointed out that Bawumia’s frequent use of the pronoun “we” in his speeches is an acknowledgment of collective responsibility.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s approach underscores shared governance experiences, which he intends to improve upon if elected.

“I am yet to hear the Former Vice President and our Flagbearer speak anywhere and dissociate himself from the actions of government. He hasn’t done that anywhere.

“In all his speeches, the pronoun he has used most widely is ‘we’ to tell them that all the research has shown that we didn’t listen to them while we were in government. He didn’t say, ‘you said Mr. A, should reshuffle and we did not,’ he said.”
