The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has issued a warning against any attempts to move or conceal assets linked to Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), who is currently under investigation.

Adu-Boahene, was arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Organisation (EOCO) on March 21, at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) after he arrived from London on a British Airways flight.

Providing updates on the case, Dr. Ayine revealed that Adu-Boahene was arrested in connection with a controversial $7 million cyber defense system contract which was diverted into his private account.

He added that Adu-Boahene and his wife had registered around ten companies, several of which were established under Advantage Solutions. These entities are reportedly under active investigation.

The Attorney General has also cautioned against transferring any funds or assets from these companies’ accounts, noting that they are currently being monitored.

“The investigations have revealed so far, that the suspect and wife have registered companies which we are currently tracking, about 10 of them which they created with Advantage Solutions, mostly owning all the companies.

“For the ongoing investigation, we are not going to disclose those companies but I want to warn any executive, director, or employee of each of the companies who upon knowing that Adu-Boahene has been arrested, move assets, we will track and arrest and prosecute them. So they are all warned.

“The same for all banks, if we see any wired transfers or cash withdrawals on any of the accounts belonging to Adu-Boahene and his companies, the bank managers and all their employees who are involved in those transfers will be arrested.

“We are monitoring all the accounts from the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), with a press of a button, we can see the movement of the money from all the accounts,” he stated.
