Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced the restoration of water supply from the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, effective Wednesday, March 19, following a recent shutdown aimed at addressing operational challenges at the Suame Roundabout in the Ashanti Region.
In a press statement, GWL highlighted that the maintenance was necessary to ensure the reliability of the water supply, despite construction projects in the region.
It revealed that it may take a few hours for water pressures to stabilize across the network however, some customers may experience a service return shortly while others may encounter delays, as pressure levels build to optimal distribution levels.
GWL expressed gratitude to the Ashanti Regional Minister for playing a crucial role in assisting the institution throughout the maintenance period.
“Management extends our heartfelt appreciation to the Regional Minister for the Ashanti Region, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for his unwavering support and guidance throughout this process. His involvement has been crucial in facilitating a smooth resolution to the challenges,” the statement read.
The statement further commended customers for their patience and understanding during the period of the shutdown.
