Brigadier General Maxwell Obuba Mantey has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), with his appointment taking effect immediately.
NACOC, the state agency responsible for regulating and preventing the trafficking and abuse of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in Ghana, also collaborates with international partners to combat transnational drug trafficking while implementing public education and rehabilitation programs.
Brigadier General Mantey, who previously served as the Chief Coordinator at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), was recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.
Following his promotion, he was appointed Deputy Commandant of the Support Services Command, recognizing his distinguished service and leadership within the Ghana Armed Forces.
With his extensive experience and disciplined leadership, Brigadier General Mantey is expected to strengthen NACOC’s mission in tackling drug-related crimes and enhancing public safety.
