The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr. Gideon Boako, has called on the Mahama administration to ensure transparency by presenting accurate and verifiable data in the 2025 budget.
Dr. Boako expressed concerns that the use of unverified data could harm the country’s image.
Speaking ahead of the budget presentation by the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, on Tuesday, March 11, Dr. Boako urged the government to be honest with Ghanaians.
He also cautioned against any attempt to manipulate data to discredit the previous administration, stressing that such actions could ultimately undermine Ghana’s reputation.
“We expect government to be very candid to the Ghanaian people. Present the situation as it is. He has to stay true to the data. And so, I expect the Finance Minister to present data that is accurate and verifiable.
“Verfiable in the sense that sometimes the tendencies are there that the government in an attempt to put the previous government in the bad light. Say things that in the end may not even help the image of the country,” he stated.
