Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dominic Ayine, has nominated three legal professionals to join the General Legal Council (GLC), the body responsible for regulating legal education and professional conduct in Ghana.
The nominees include Francis Xavier Sosu, Member of Parliament for Madina; Clara Beeri Kasser-Tee, a lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law; and Dr. Abdul-Bassit Aziz Bamba, a senior lecturer at the same institution.
A statement from the Attorney-General’s office confirmed that the nominations were made in accordance with the Legal Profession Act, 1960 (Act 32) and have been communicated to President John Mahama.
The Attorney-General also extended his highest consideration to Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo regarding the appointments.
The nominees are expected to play a key role in shaping legal education and maintaining professional standards within Ghana’s legal community.
