Dr Pamela De-Boards, Partner for Assurance at Ernst & Young Global Limited, has expressed optimism about the recommendations made during the National Economic Dialogue influencing the upcoming 2025 Budget.

The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to present the budget to Parliament on March 11, 2025.

The two-day National Economic Dialogue, held on March 3 and 4, brought together experts, policymakers, academia, traditional leaders, and private sector representatives. Discussions focused on key areas such as macroeconomic stability, economic transformation, infrastructure development, structural reforms, private sector-led growth, governance, and anti-corruption efforts.

They later proposed recommendations to the government to aid in economic recovery.

Speaking in an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, Dr De-Boards described the dialogue as engaging and productive, emphasising the importance of collaboration between experts and stakeholders.

“I think it’s been very engaging, interesting; the breakout session has been very good. You have experts and stakeholders sitting around the same table and sharing ideas.

“We tried to bring out the top priorities, top ideas, we hopefully get into the budget. If we get to see some of our comments in the budget, it will be really nice because I think this is the first time I’m seeing this, and it’s really a good thing,” she noted.
