President John Dramani Mahama has appointed former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye as National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).

DRIP, launched in July 2024 by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, aims to enhance road infrastructure across all 275 constituencies in Ghana.

The programme focuses on empowering Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the necessary resources and equipment for effective road maintenance and construction.

Given Vanderpuye’s previous calls for transparency in DRIP’s operations, his potential involvement in a leadership capacity would align with his commitment to ensuring accountable governance.

He served as Minister of Youth and Sports and as Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry in the previous John Dramani Mahama’s government.
