The body of a 10-year-old boy has been discovered at a salt mining site at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Nurudeen Abubakar was found dead in one of the salt pits after he went there to fish.
Assemblyman for Upper Nyanyano Isaac Quansah says he was informed of the drowning of the 10-year-old boy prompting the police in the area to move to the scene.
The Assemblyman believes negligence on the part of the boy’s parents led to him being drowned questioning what the deceased was doing at the salt mining pits during school hours.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the mother and child hospital in Kasoa.
