Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, has won the Council of State election with a significant lead.

Obimpeh secured 49 votes, out of a total of 85 valid votes cast.
His closest competitor, Nkansah Boadu Nana Ayeboafo, received 35 votes, while Daniel Anarfi Yamoah garnered only one vote. None of the other candidates received any votes.
The election saw high voter turnout, with 85 out of the expected 86 votes being cast, and no rejected ballots.
