The lifeless body of an 11-year-old boy was discovered on the banks of the Owabi River in Kyerease, located in the Afigya Kwabre South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, in the early hours of Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Speaking to Citi News, the Assembly Member for the Kyekyire-Kyerease Electoral Area, Joyce Osei Assibey, stated that the police have since deposited the body at the morgue of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
However, she noted that the boy’s family has yet to reach out to her or other authorities, as they had not been identified at the time the body was taken to the morgue.
Madam Joyce further explained that the cause of death remains unknown, as the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
