“I am a hairdresser. I sent my ward to school only to come back and meet this place in flames. My shop is completely burnt. I restocked last Monday but now everything is gone. I plead with authorities to come to my aid. This is my only source of livelihood,” Akua, a victim lamented.
“I was at work when I received a call that there’s a fire outbreak here. All my belongings are burnt. I don’t even have clothes to change into,” another resident bemoaned.
“One of my brothers called me that one of our kiosks is burning. We rushed here. A few people were already here pouring water on the fire trying to tend it. We screamed for more help but no one else joined us in our efforts to tend the fire. The fire spread to other shops very fast. All our goods and money have burnt to ashes,” another victim said.
