President John Dramani Mahama has assured residents of Sekondi Takoradi of the resumption of construction works at the abandoned Takoradi market circle.
Sod-cutting of the project was done in 2020 during the Akufo-Addo administration.
During an inspection of the 82% completed Market Circle as part of his Western Regional ‘Thank You’ Tour, President Mahama indicated that he knows the critical importance of the Takoradi Market Circle to the people.
He pledged to meet the contractors on Friday, February 7, to discuss recommencing construction works.
“Come Friday, I will hold a meeting with the contractor and the Minister of Finance to discuss the resumption of the project. Very soon the contractor will return with his workers to resume,” he stated.
