Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called on the clerk of the Appointments Committee to resign and seek employment with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), following allegations of partisanship raised by the Minority Caucus.

Addressing the press on Monday, February 3, Afenyo-Markin accused the clerk of bias in favor of the Majority, stating that she fails to seek the Minority’s consent before advertising vetting schedules. He further alleged that she refuses to present the committee’s reports to him for review.

According to Afenyo-Markin, when the NDC was in the Minority, the same clerk insisted on obtaining their approval before proceeding with committee activities.

He also claimed that she has been making insinuations against the Minority on her WhatsApp status in response to their accusations.

“The clerk to the committee is a partisan clerk. She is not a neutral professional clerk. If she as a clerk wants to be an NDC activist, we expect her to resign and fully participate in the NDC politics and not to pretend that she is a parliamentary service staff and work against us,” he said.
