The management of Accra Academy Senior High School has officially addressed the viral video of a student assaulting his colleagues with a machete, confirming that the perpetrator has been handed over to the police for further investigation.

The footage, which surfaced on social media, shows a student brutally flogging two others with a machete.

The victims, first-year students Samuel Ussher, Kingsford Quayson, Stephen Oteng, and Dominic Awuku Adjei, were allegedly attacked by final-year students Haleem Jibril, Ahmed Dauda, and Richard Ninsin, along with first-year student Shadad Aliu.

According to the school’s management, preliminary investigations revealed that the machete was brought from home, not taken from school premises.

All students involved, identified as day students, have been asked to stay away from school pending further investigation.

“The matter is still under investigation by the school’s disciplinary committee and all stakeholders will accordingly be informed of the outcome,” the statement read.

The management added that the incident occurred on January 17, 2025. However, the students failed to report the matter to school authorities until the video surfaced on social media.

The school has contacted the parents of the students involved, and some have responded with statements.
