Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has stated that, despite his role as the leader of the opposition in Parliament, he has not yet actively opposed the Majority.
Speaking in an interview on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday, January 29, the Effutu Member of Parliament (MP) explained that he has deliberately chosen to give the government some breathing room rather than immediately mounting strong opposition.
“I am giving them some breather. I haven’t started any opposition. No no no, I haven’t opposed them.
“I am saying that for NDC me Kwamena I have not opposed them. Look I have given them great moments to start their government,” Afenyo-Markin remarked.
He, however, commended Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga for his diplomatic approach and his ability to foster consensus between the Majority and Minority caucuses in Parliament.
“Ayariga’s diplomacy is at an all-time best. He engaged in some useful discussions that led to the apology,” Afenyo-Markin stated.
