Volta Regional Minister-Designate, James Gunu, has pledged to collaborate with the Roads and Tourism Ministries to enhance tourist sites within the region.

During his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Thursday, January 23, he stressed the importance of improving road accessibility to tourist sites. According to him, the majority of these places of scenery are difficult to reach due to poor road conditions.

Gunu hinted at a collaboration with the Ministry of Roads and Highways as well as the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture to enhance tourism and boost the economy upon assuming office

“Fortunately, we have our honourable Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Hon, Abla Dzifa Gomashie who is going to the Tourism Ministry. It is my duty as the regional minister to collaborate with her and also to collaborate with the Roads Minister because many of these tourist sites need to be accessible.

“I will work with these two ministers to ensure that we enhance tourism in the Volta Region,” he said.
