The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole-Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana, has called on his constituents to remain calm and refrain from protests following his omission from President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial nominations.
This appeal comes in response to protests by some youth in the constituency, who reportedly burned car tyres at the residence of President Mahama’s late father, expressing their frustration over the President’s decision not to include the Bole-Bamboi MP in his ministerial appointments.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 21, Mr. Sulemana expressed unwavering confidence in President Mahama’s leadership and decision-making. He urged the residents of Bole-Bamboi to support the President, whom he referred to as his “brother,” in advancing the government’s “reset agenda” for national development.
The MP reassured his constituents that their concerns and interests would be effectively represented, regardless of the role he is entrusted with. “I remain committed to the service of Bole-Bamboi and the vision of President Mahama for our nation,” he said.
Mr. Sulemana also cautioned the youth against resorting to acts of vigilantism or violence, warning that such behavior could tarnish the reputation of the constituency and undermine its progress. He encouraged peaceful dialogue and collective efforts to support the community’s growth and development.
