Investigative journalist Raymond Archer has firmly denied allegations of dispatching individuals to the Ghana Trade Fair Company following his appointment as a committee member of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

Mr. Archer’s printing business, Universal Labels and Packaging Company Limited, along with 20 other companies, was demolished in 2020 under contentious circumstances.

The Chief Executive Officer of Universal Labels & Packaging Co. Limited claimed that a court injunction was secured to halt the demolition exercise. However, authorities at the Trade Fair Company Limited proceeded with the demolition without prior notice.

Subsequent reports suggested that Mr. Archer had sent individuals to take control of the Trade Fair Company premises.

Speaking in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Mr. Archer dismissed these claims, asserting that he lacked the authority to issue such instructions and that the accusations were baseless.

“I’m not that powerful, and even if I was, I would use my power wisely. I’m not a very vicious person. This small assignment you are given is somebody’s big vision, you are just a small part of it. And then you are going to use that to… I don’t even have that power, to be honest with you.

“I don’t even have that kind of power to call thugs. I will send thugs to go to the Trade Fair and do what with it? Take over what? I lost over $10 million dollars since 2020 and I have moved on. I never grumbled. I never crushed.

“I don’t even know any thugs, I don’t control any thugs, I have not sent anybody to Trade Fair. All of that is false.”

He criticized the management of the Trade Fair Company for their handling of the demolition exercise.

He alleged that his business was deliberately targeted by the previous government due to his perceived association with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
