The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Election Review Committee has assured the party of its commitment to conduct a thorough investigation devoid of partiality into the party’s performance in the 2024 election.
In a press statement signed by the Secretary to the committee, William Yamoah, the committee announced that it will be operating with the objective of “repositioning the party for victory in 2028.”
The committee is mandated to review the party’s activities during the 2024 electioneering period, examining the root causes of the party’s performance and drafting a strategic roadmap to secure a decisive victory in the 2028 elections.
Approach
To achieve this, the committee is set to adopt a robust, data-driven approach integrating both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
The committee would also hold stakeholder engagements with key players including former presidents, former campaign management team members, student groups, youth wing, religious leaders, traditional authorities, grassroots members of the party and Organised Labour.
“This rigorous and inclusive review process is designed to provide the party with a clear understanding of its challenges and opportunities. We are confident that these efforts will enable the party to recalibrate, strengthen its foundations, restore trust among its members and secure electoral victory in 2028,” the statement read.
The committee called on party faithful, sympathisers and the general public to share insights or information regarding various factors that influenced the outcome of the 2024 general election via email at [email protected].
Post-Election 2024, the NPP formed an 11-member committee, chaired by Prof. Mike Oquaye, to investigate the party’s loss in the 2024 elections.
The committee was given a three-month mandate to carry out its work and submit a report to the party’s National Council.
