The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has condemned the recent spate of attacks and looting of public offices by individuals allegedly linked to the party.

He emphasized that the NDC does not condone such actions and categorically distances itself from these incidents.

Over the past few days, several government offices, including those of the National Identification Authority (NIA), National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and other state institutions, have been targeted in violent attacks and looting.

These acts have been attributed to individuals purported to be NDC supporters reacting to the party’s victory in the recent general elections.

In an interview with Channel One News, Ashie Moore clarified that the party does not sanction such behaviour and warned that some individuals may exploit the situation to engage in criminal activities under the guise of being NDC members.

“The party stand is that we are not behind and we are not supporting what happened in the MMDCE’s offices. We have received numerous reports. Some of them you can’t identify. These are party card-bearing members. The party distances itself from the allegations so far.

“The party stands far away from such allegations. And as I said, they should be vigilant but they shouldn’t take the law into their own hands. They should get the appropriate authority and make sure that they report and the right thing will be done.”

He added that the Greater Accra NDC is set to meet all of its constituency executives to give them contacts of security personnel and advice that they stop if they have a hand in the ongoing loots.
