The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr Gideon Boako, has pledged to play an active role in fostering a responsible and constructive opposition in Ghana’s 9th Parliament.

In an interview following his swearing-in ceremony, Dr Boako underscored the Minority’s essential role in ensuring government accountability while maintaining a focus on addressing the needs of the Ghanaian people.

“We will not be a disruptive opposition but rather a responsible one,” Dr. Boako stated. “I have a responsibility to hold the government accountable for the people of Ghana. What the people of Ghana expect from the presidency of John Mahama is what we will ensure is done.”

Dr. Boako, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighted his unwavering obligation to serve the interests of his constituents and the nation at large.

He assured Ghanaians that the NPP Minority would employ all available means to advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit the public.

“I have no other responsibility than to serve the interest of the people of Ghana, and whichever way that we have to serve that interest is what we are going to do and nothing else,” he added.
