President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has called on Africans to avoid conflicts and prioritize peaceful dialogue as a means of resolving disagreements.

In his address, Tinubu urged individuals not to resort to violence or harm each other over differences, highlighting the importance of peace and understanding in fostering unity and progress across the continent.

Tinubu, who was the special guest of honour at the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama in Ghana, made these remarks during the ceremony on January 7, 2025, where Mahama was sworn in as the 6th President of the 4th Republic of Ghana.

“That star [Black Star] reminds us always to strive and walk together, bound together. Even when we disagree, we must choose the path of peaceful dialogue. Never can we harm our brothers, nor can we permit any outsider to destroy our bonds of brotherhood.”
The Nigerian President who is also the ECOWAS Chairman assured Mahama that he could always count on his support as he embarks on his second term in office.

Today marks a new beginning, we shall reset Ghana – Mahama
