The family of a 15-year-old girl allegedly defiled by a 25-year-old man at Kulkpang in the Yendi municipality is demanding justice for the victim.
According to the family, a Chief in Yendi is allegedly asking that the case be withdrawn from the police to his Palace but the family is not happy with the decision and wants the law to take its course.
The girl is currently on admission at the hospital with serious injuries to her organ. The family alleges that the suspect used a substance to cause the victim to lose consciousness before proceeding to act.
The Father of the victim who has been speaking to Channel One News is demanding justice for his daughter. According to him, he feels helpless because the chief, Zohe Naa wants to use his position to induce the case.
The police also say they are helpless and are looking up to the family (the father) as to what he will say.
“I was called by the chief that the suspect came to his house and asked that he should call me and plead on their behalf. But in this case, I don’t think what they are requesting can happen, seriously, I couldn’t eat yesterday.
“I told him I have brothers and uncles unless I also go and consult them and see what they will tell me,” said Abdulai Yakubu, father of the victim.
