Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Special Guest of Honour at John Mahama’s presidential inauguration, has assured Ghana’s new President of Nigeria’s unwavering support and solidarity.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, President Tinubu emphasized the strong bond between the two leaders and their nations, promising to strengthen the ties between Ghana and Nigeria even further.
“President John Mahama and I share a deep friendship. My dear brother, I am here to work with you. You know you can count on my general support at any given time you call on me. We are with you, brothers and sisters. We shall always be there for you,” he stated.
Additionally, President Tinubu, who also serves as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), emphasised the importance of collaboration between Ghana and Nigeria, expressing optimism about the positive impact Mahama’s leadership would bring.
“May your administration be a profound success and progress for you and Ghanaians. I am confident that the new government, under the leadership of President John Mahama, will work with Nigeria to strengthen its powerful bond, leading to greater spheres of progress and prosperity for the people of our two nations. I have no doubt that your administration will bring about positive change and progress,” he stated.
