The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has strongly condemned the performance of the Akufo-Addo administration over the last eight years.
He characterized the Akufo-Addo government as the most ineffective in the nation’s history.
Speaking during the inauguration of the President-elect on January 7, Fifi Kwetey said, “I think it’s the worst government in our history. And I’m not being political, for me, the economy is not even in shape, it’s the level of depravity, the degeneration, the immorality of the leadership that has been for me the biggest shock.
“It brought this country to the lowest possible level as far as governance is concerned. I’m not saying it’s because it’s an opponent. We have seen Kufuor’s government, I wouldn’t say it was the best, but compared to what we have seen over the last 8 years, it’s absolutely a disaster, for me, it’s completely forgettable.”
He stated that no future administration should exhibit the same level of poor performance as that of the Akufo-Addo government, referencing the misconduct that defined that administration.
“For me, it’s one Ghana must use as a benchmark for how low not to sink, no government in the future should sink as low as this. The selfishness, greed, insensitivity, deception, and arrogance, are the things that hurt me more.”
