Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully retained his parliamentary seat for Techiman South following a re-collation of votes conducted at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office in Accra.

The re-collation was prompted by disputes over the initial results of the Techiman South constituency, which had sparked widespread attention and debate among political parties and the general public.

After a thorough review of the ballots, the Electoral Commission reaffirmed Korsah’s victory with a decisive margin. He secured 46,663 votes, defeating Christopher Beyere Basongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who polled 43,429 votes.

In related developments, the NPP has also emerged victorious in Okaikwei Central and Tema Central constituencies to boost its parliamentary representation.

The re-collation process, necessitated by a High Court directive, underscores the critical importance of transparency and accuracy in electoral processes to uphold democratic principles.
