Residents of Sekondi-Takoradi ushered in the New Year’s Day celebration with colourful masquerade carnival that excited residents.
The city of Sekondi-Takoradi has officially become the unofficial Christmas city in Ghana with its well-patronized events such as the Kofi Kinaata’s Made in Tadi show and the Westside Masquerade carnival patronized by over 20 masquerade clubs.
The oil city ushered in 2025 with fun fairs by masquerades dancing and singing from 31st December night until New Year’s Day which brought a lot of happiness to residents.
The MP-elect for Sekondi, Blay Armah Nyamekye, sponsored the festival this year and personally participated in the fun fairs.
Commenting on the essence of the masquerade festival, he assured to uplift the degraded status of Sekondi.
