The 31st Watch Night Service holds great significance in many Ghanaian communities, marking the transition from the old year to the new one through prayers, worship, and enthusiasm for the year ahead.

As part of the watch night service, congregants make resolutions and aspirations as they enter a new year.

Channel One News visited the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Christ Temple East at Teshie to interact with congregants on their New Year resolutions.

Several worship and praise songs were ministered, with worshippers singing in tune, praising, and expressing their gratitude for the blessings of 2024.

As is customary at a watch-night service, a moment arrived for the official crossover, symbolically marking the transition from the old year to the new.

Pastor Mensah Otabil, General Overseer of the ICGC led the congregation in crossing over into the year 2025. His key message centred on powerful declarations for the New Year.

Joshua Nartey, a congregant told Channel One News that “My resolution is to make sure I get to know God more than I do because there are times you may think you know God until something strikes your very foundation. There, you realise that you need more than you know.”

Another congregant Nana Asamoah added that “I have my own resolution that this year I will be more fruitful, I will work harder and ensure that I provide the best for my family.”
