Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has warned that all last-minute recruitments and promotions in public institutions will be terminated or reversed under an NDC-led government.
Asiedu Nketiah emphasised that recent actions by certain public institutions to recruit or promote personnel during the transitional period were unacceptable. He described such actions as politically motivated and designed to undermine good governance and fairness in the civil service.
Speaking at a victory rally in Sunyani on Friday, December 20, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah claimed that the NPP government had issued approximately 10,000 appointment letters and promoted numerous officials in public institutions and agencies just last week.
He questioned the motives behind these last-minute decisions, suggesting they were politically driven.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah specifically mentioned the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), and the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) as institutions where the NDC has uncovered information about these sudden appointments and promotions.
“All those who illegally gain recruitment and promotions in the public institutions and agencies will be terminated or reversed,” he said.
