The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) Ashanti Division has called for police protection for its Chairman, Dr. (Med) Paa Kwesi Baidoo and his family following an attack on his residence by some unknown assailants.
In a statement released on Thursday, December 19, GMA Ashanti Division condemned the attack as a wicked and callous act which put the lives of Dr Baidoo’s family in danger.
According to the presser, some unknown persons entered the premises of Dr Baidoo’s bungalow at about 7.00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, to destroy a giant tree on the compound. The tree fell on the house, breaking the roof and damaging some personal items within the house while leaving the doctor’s wife and son trapped.
GMA requested the immediate commencement of investigations, arrest and punishment of the culprits as well as compensation of Dr. Baidoo’s family for the damage and emotional stress caused. They also called for police protection for the Chairman and his family while investigations are ongoing.
“In the interim, the members of the Division demand the provision of Police protection for our Chairman and his family as investigations continue. As a law-abiding Association, we resolve to give our able Police enough time and space for them to work to apprehend the culprits,” the press stated.
