The security agencies in Bawku have deployed drones in an attempt to capture weapons and gunmen who engage in attacks.
Reports say, so far some individuals and arms have been apprehended through that initiative.
The drones which float higher into the sky spot combatants engaging in their activities on camera and the security does a follow-up to apprehend the perpetrators.
On Wednesday gunmen engaged each other fiercely in a heavy battle but no casualty has been confirmed so far.
The sporadic shooting which intensified around 6 am were reported around the Bawku-Gingande enclave as well as the Kpalore enclave.
On Tuesday, December 18 two people were killed in the area by gunmen, re-escalating the situation.
One of the victims, Moro Aziz, a mentally deranged man from Gozesi, a suburb of Bawku, wandered towards the Bawku cemetery where he was killed.
The second victim, identified as Kasim, was reportedly killed in Daduri, another suburb of Bawku while attempting to navigate to a different location.
These deaths bring the total number of fatalities in the area to 35 since the resurgence of the conflict in late October 2024.
