President-elect John Dramani Mahama and outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have officially initiated the 2024 National Transition Team, a significant step in Ghana’s democratic journey.
On Wednesday, December 11, at the Jubilee House in Accra, the two leaders met to commence the orderly and peaceful transfer of power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The National Transition Team, tasked with overseeing the handover, will ensure a seamless transition by briefing the incoming administration on crucial state matters, providing access to essential government data, and coordinating the formal inauguration of the President-elect.
