The Effutu constituency vice chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly disappeared following an attack on him by some individuals.

Channel One News understands that Abraham Ato Addo Annan and some NDC officials were allegedly attacked on December 7 while monitoring the elections.

They were later allegedly attacked while seeking treatment at a health facility causing him to escape from the hospital.

Abraham Henry Arthur the NDC constituency secretary says the vice chairman has not been seen since the incident, adding that they believe he has been abducted.

He said his phone numbers have been out of reach since the occurrence and wants police to swiftly conduct investigations that would lead to his rescue.

“On Saturday around 6: pm, when the whole election saga was about to end, I received a call from one of my collation officers that his life was in danger and that I should go and rescue him. I decided to secure the services of the military who were deployed at the collation centre. We went to one of the collation centres and we saw the constituency vice chairman’s vehicle packaged in the middle of the road with a lot of blood stains all over. With windscreens seriously damaged.

“Then I saw NPP thugs pursuing my constituency chairman too who had then come to the scene to have the matter resolved. A witness said the constituency vice constituency chairman was severely beaten. He also sent some videos to ascertain the truth. We have reported the matter to the police and looking at the police to expedite action,” he said.
