Tepa Hene, Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem I has summoned his elders and subjects for a crucial meeting on Tuesday to address the growing unrest in the community following the 2024 general election.
The gathering aims to find lasting solutions to the violence and tension that have disrupted Tepa within the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region in recent days.
The town saw heavy military deployment after some individuals believed to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) went on a rampage setting private and public property ablaze.
The irate supporters have reportedly burnt some structures at the Tepa Senior High School where ballot materials used for Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary elections were kept.
Amid rising tensions, the Tepa Hene, Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem I, has convened a critical meeting with his elders to restore calm and address the escalating crisis.
Meanwhile, properties belonging to the NPP parliamentary candidate, Eric Nana Agyamang, were vandalized during the unrest, further deepening the community’s turmoil.
They besieged a local radio station belonging to the 2024 New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary candidate and ransacked a building used as a warehouse.
