The Ghana Police Service has arrested nine individuals in connection with the arson attack on the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Ayensuano, Eastern Region.
The incident resulted in the destruction of electoral materials and devices used during the recent general elections.
These latest arrests bring the total number of suspects apprehended in post-election disturbances across the country to 106.
All suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with investigations. In a statement on Tuesday, December 10, the police assured that those found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.
The Ayensuano EC office attack occurred amidst heightened tensions following the declaration of election results.
The suspects reportedly torched the facility during a protest, sparking widespread condemnation.
