A group of youth alleged to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have ransacked the offices of the Bono Regional Forestry Commission on Monday, December 9.
The youth who were armed with machetes succeeded in seizing two patrol vehicles belonging to the regional office of the commission, which also houses the Sunyani Forest Services Division (FSD).
The angry youth took away seized chainsaw machines, motorbikes and other items from the premises.
Though the police responded to the issue, they could not do much to prevent the youth from the destruction they caused.
Because of the incident, the workers did not go to work on Tuesday, December 10.
Efforts to speak to the Bono Regional Director of the Forestry Commission to comment on the issue were unsuccessful.
No arrest has been made by the police.
