The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made significant gains in the 2024 elections, flipping the Mpohor and Sekondi parliamentary seats from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In Mpohor, Henry Godfred Bentil emerged victorious over the incumbent MP, John Kobina Abbam Aboah Sanie. Bentil secured 11,680 votes, decisively outpacing Sanie’s 8,299 votes.
Similarly, in Sekondi, NDC’s Blay Nyameke Armah defeated incumbent Andrew Egyapa Mercer. Armah garnered 14,558 votes, representing 56.40% of the total valid votes, while Mercer managed 11,084 votes, equivalent to 42.94%.
A total of 25,813 votes were cast in the Sekondi election, with 171 ballots rejected. These results underscore the NDC’s growing momentum in key constituencies.
