The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Weija Gbawe, Felix Odartey Lamptey is accusing officials from the Electoral Commission (EC) of conniving with an “unidentified” chief to subjugate the electoral process in the constituency.

He bemoans the situation where parliamentary pink sheets bearing the names of polling stations, were delivered to the wrong voting centres in the Weija Gbawe constituency.

He further disclosed that some polling stations carried out the voting exercise in the absence of a presiding officer.

Despite these claims, Lamptey said he’s confident of winning the Parliamentary seat, to bring relief from the underdevelopment, which in his view, has characterised the NPP administration in the constituency.

“What you see is as a result of the EC’s connivance with the NPP and one ‘so-called’ chief in this constituency who have come together to subvert the will of the people. It started in the morning yesterday as the stuffed ballot boxes were taken to the polling stations only for us to realise that all the parliamentary pink sheets were not in the ballot boxes.

“Where there are pink sheets in the ballot boxes, they are pink sheets of different polling stations and different communities. Can you believe we are in Weija-Gbawe and you will have Lekma pink sheets in Weija-Gbawe,” he stated.
