He polled 40,478 votes against his contender Etuaful Kwesi Rashid, who garnered 18,251 votes. This will be the fourth time he is retaining the seat after entering Parliament in 2009.

“I am grateful to the NDC for the confidence reposed in me and for choosing me as its candidate since 2007. I want to thank the people of Ajumako Enyan Esiam for their trust and support. I have already served for 16 years, and today I have the opportunity to serve another four years.
“I am grateful to everyone, especially those who voted for me, Ato Forson, and John Dramani Mahama. Today, we have about 204 stations where every voter voted for Ato Forson. I am grateful to the EC for its professionalism in the conduct of its work, and I am also grateful to the security agencies,” he stated.
Dr. Forson promised to continue to serve them diligently.
