A polling station agent at the Wasa Akropong – Appiahkrom Polling Station A in the Western Region has been arrested for attempting to vote twice during the ongoing 2024 general elections.
The suspect, identified as Kwofie Stephen, is currently in police custody and assisting with the investigation, according to a police statement. This marks the third person arrested for election-related offences, the Police, however. failed to identify which political party the agent represents.
In another incident in the Bono Region, specifically in Kintampo South, an Electoral Commission official was arrested for issuing 15 ballot papers to voters without the picture of the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Additionally, in Okaikwei South Constituency, a voter was detained by police after verbally assaulting an Electoral Commission official in the early hours of December 7. A subsequent tip-off revealed that the individual, an NDC party agent, was allegedly carrying a pistol.
