A fight broke out between a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and another of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Odododiodio constituency at the Akanmajen palace in Jamestown, resulting in the injury of the NPP member.
According to the NDC member involved, Davis Nunoo, the altercation started when the NPP member crumpled a sample voter’s register belonging to the NDC party agent and hit him in the face.
Nunoo claimed this act sparked his anger, leading him to punch the NPP member in the face.
“One of the NPP supporters snatched and destroyed the copy of the voters’ register belonging to the NDC polling agent. In an attempt to prevent him, he took to his heels.
“But we chased him and that is how the fight ensued, and he got wounded in the head,” he stated.
However, calm has been restored with the voting process ongoing.
