Rev Dr Fred Deegbe, Co-Chairman of the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO), has lauded the Electoral Commission (EC) for its handling of the ongoing 2024 general elections, rating their performance nine out of 10 so far.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, Rev Dr Deegbe praised the EC for swiftly addressing challenges that arose during the voting process, ensuring that disruptions were minimal, and operations continued smoothly.
He noted that this reflects CODEO’s overall assessment of the electoral process, which has seen a few initial setbacks, such as delays in opening some polling stations.
However, the EC’s prompt response to these issues has been widely acknowledged by observers.
“As a human institution, my agents have given them about 90% based on what has happened so far to meet the speed with which they were rectified. Whatever was wrong, they have scored very high marks,” he stated.
